Bangladesh Maritime University celebrated Great Martyr's Day and International Mother Language Day-2025 with due dignity. At the beginning of the day, a delegation led by Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University Rear Admiral Ashraful Hoq Chowdhury, NBP, OSP, BCGM, ndu, afwc, psc alongwith Treasurer, Registrar, Deans, Teachers, Officers, Employees and Students, participated in the morning procession and paid a homage and wreathed at the central Shaheed Minar. Later, the university organized a discussion and a cultural program at the Mirpur campus in the light of Language Movement and International Mother Language Day. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Swarna Dutta, Assistant Professor, Department of Bengali delivered a speech on the importance and significance of Great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day. The chief guest reverently remembered the life sacrifices of language martyrs of 1952 for mother tongue. He also paid his sincere respect to the students, children and others who sacrificed their lives in the July-2024 People's Uprising. He called upon the teachers, researchers, officials, employees and students to ensure the use of pure and standard Bengali language in all fields and to protect and spread the Bengali language at home and abroad. A wonderful cultural program was organized by the cultural club of the university participated by the students.
