The Faculty of Shipping Administration at BSMR Maritime University of Bangladesh aims to be a global leader in maritime education and research through innovative education, practices, industry partnership and commitment to excellence. To pursue the motto of the University, ‘To be the centre of maritime excellence’, the faculty focuses academic activities on Shipping Administration to prepare world-class human resources for shipping and administration. The faculty is conducting two Masters programmes, "Masters in Port and Shipping Management" and “Masters in Maritime Science” under the Department of Port and Shipping Management and Maritime Science. An undergraduate programme, ‘BBA in Port Management and Logistics’ is being conducted under the Department of Port and Shipping Management. The faculty is determined to provide quality education in the port, shipping, logistics management, freight forwarding, cargo operation, fleet management, ship chartering and brokering practices, supply chain management, ship sales, purchase, etc. Such initiative will undoubtedly create opportunities to transfer knowledge and transform skills into action in a complex global socio-economic context to improve human lives and global society. To support these academic activities, we have prominent academicians, professionals, and maritime experts in the form of full-time and adjunct faculty. In addition to the formal course curriculum, the faculty also arranges short courses, seminars and workshops, industrial visits, and field visits, which enrich our students' learning experience and transform them into a global citizen in the maritime domain. The faculty also administers and regulates the Marine and Fisheries Academies of Bangladesh.

Students who wish to pursue a career in port and shipping administration and management or the related fields of logistics, freight forwarding, port agency, ship chartering, brokering, sale, and purchase may enroll in this faculty. This faculty is dedicated to producing qualified professionals from a global perspective who can handle the complex nature of shipping administrations, sea transport and logistics.
