Unlike the usual “debate clubs” in all universities, BSMRMU Language and Debate Club is a joint venture of both language activities such as, extempore speech, public speaking, elocution etc. as well as debate activities. A subtle combination of both activities allows the participants to polish their language skills while making them prone to logic-oriented approaches in real-life situations, which brings us to the motto of the club, “Yielding logic of words to logic of reality.”

Currently Prof. Dr. Altaf Hussain is acting as the Mentor of the club, while it is being coordinated by Asst. Prof. Kh. Atikur Rahman, Lecturer Raju Ahmmed and the executive committee of the club include President Md. Ashif Imam Khan along with other executive and extended committee members. With earnest efforts of the Moderators, Advisors and Club-Executives with collaboration with university authorities; BSMRMU Language and Debate Club hopes to arrange more activities, competitions, workshops throughout the year.

BSMRMU Language and Debate club keeps club members active by arranging regular interactive sessions in which the participants undertake in-prompt tasks including quick debates, spot-speaking, two truths and a lie, interactive conversation etc. In addition, the club is determined to inspire and motivate students of this university to actively be part of the club activities which would serve their communications skills in the long run.
