Department of International Co-operation & Exchange

Department of International Cooperation and Exchange (INTCE) coordinates, and conducts international cooperation activities for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh. The main task of INTCE is to communicate with foreign universities and institutions for academic collaboration and capacity building of the university. It also acts as a bridge between the BSMRMU and foreign partners as agreed upon through Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). It is the core center for maintaining the foreign exchange of educational activities, international programs and initiatives, students- teachers’ dynamisms in the foreign universities or institutions, scholarships related activities, international conferences and so on. At present the activities which are carried out in INTCE are as follow:

•    T  To inform and advice the University community about the different international programs available which focus on the scope of higher education.

  ·       To promote and manage students-teachers mobility to and from foreign institutions, within the framework of programs, scholarships, and university cooperation programs.

  ·       To advice students to handle different documents and awards of scholarship, amount of scholarship and possible complementary aids, and other tasks that they should perform directly with the host institution.

  ·       To provide information to the BSMRMU teachers about teachers exchange and international cooperation programs.

  ·       To conduct acceptance of foreign exchange students, prepare a guide for foreign students, and send information about the BSMRMU: campuses, cities, reception, visas, travel, search for accommodation, registration, and study possibilities with the staff of international relations and registrar section of the university.

  ·       To draft and negotiate MOU and International Cooperation Agreements. In mean time about 16 institutions and universities are in collaboration.

  ·       To arrange participation of personnel from BSMRMU to attend in the seminars, symposium, and conferences in home and abroad by invitation.
