English language club at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University provides an opportunity for English language learners to practice using English in a relaxed and friendly setting. The purpose of the club is to enrich learners' English language proficiency. The club gives participants the opportunity to express themselves creatively in English. The participants can use English beyond the classroom and in real life situations. The learners have the chance to use different skills and discuss a variety of topics. In this club the participants get a substantial amount of exposure to the English language.

The club arranges different conversational sessions namely speaking sessions, debating competitions and group discussions on a given topic. The participants also watch documentaries, films, listen to English songs and engage in group discussions. The English language club provides some facilities such as a fully air-conditioned room with an arrangement for at least 30 students, audio-visual facilities (i.e. projector, sound system etc.) and computers for every member.
