A delegation of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh led by the Vice-Chancellor Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal (retd) paid homage to the Father of the Nation by placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhaka's Dhanmondi to observe 47^th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu and National Mourning Day-2022. After placing the floral wreath, the team stood there in solemn silence for some time to show their deepest respect for the great leader.

Documentary screening and Book display on the life of the Father of the Nation along with Painting display, essay reading, and poem recitation by students were also organized at the university. The Vice-Chancellor of the University Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal (retd) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Vice-Chancellor of National University Professor Dr. Md. Mashiur Rahman attended as the Special Guest and Keynote Speaker. Faculty members, Officers, Students, and Staffs of the university were present. Prizes were distributed among the winners of essay writing, recitation, painting, and quiz competition. The event was streamed live on BSMRMU's official Facebook page.

A Special prayer was offered for the eternal peace of Bangabandhu and other members of his family martyred on August 15, 1975.
