About: Md. Mostafa Aziz Shaheen lectures port and shipping management as an assistant professor at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh. He had previously worked as a mariner on board merchant vessels and ship management company. He obtained bachelor's degree in Nautical Science from Bangladesh Marine Academy, Chittagong, and master's degree in Port and Shipping Management from BSMRMU obtaining the 1st Position. Additionally, he received a "Manager Port Operation" diploma from STC International, where NUFFIC, Netherlands, provided complete funding for his scholarship. He just graduated from Lloyds Maritime Institute with a diploma in "Tanker Chartering and Operations" and "Dry Cargo Trading and Chartering." Along with supervising thesis for undergraduate and graduate programmes, he taught classes on fleet management, port management and operation, integrated transportation systems, cargo operation, ship chartering and broking, and logistics management. He nurtures his research interest focusing on issues of maritime supply chain management, green shipping, and seafarer management. Mr. Shaheen made ten scholarly contributions to maritime conferences and peer-reviewed journals in both national and international arenas. Two of them were published in the Marine Policy and Management (Q1) and the WMU Journal of Maritime Affairs (Q1). His current research focuses on accident analysis at Chittagong Port, the impact of IMO 2020 in Bangladesh, and the impacts of dry ports.
