About: Shohida Aktar joined Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU) as a Lecturer at the Department of Port and Shipping Management, Faculty of Shipping Administration (FSA) in March 2022. She has earned her Bachelor of Maritime Science (BMS) degree from Bangladesh Marine Academy, Chittagong and her Master in Maritime Science (MMS) degree from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (Dhaka, Bangladesh). Before her academic career, she was a female seafarer who worked on Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC)’s merchant vessel. Currently, she is engaged in research and project work. She published three research papers in renowned journals and presented a paper at an International Conference held in Bangkok, Thailand. She has participated in port and shipping-related training, seminars and workshops. Mrs Shohida's hobbies include gardening, reading and travelling.

Marine Spatial Planning, Blue Economy, Sustainable Development, Green solutions for port and shipping, Maritime energy management and energy efficiency, Renewable energy, Climate change impact on port infrastructure and its adaptation, Marine Pollution.
