Overview: The Institute of Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh Studies (IBBBS) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh (BSMRMU), is pleased to announce the maiden issue of the IBBBS Journal. The journal aims to serve as a platform for scholarly discourse and knowledge dissemination on diverse topics related to the Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh region. IBBBS invites researchers, scholars, and practitioners to contribute their original, unpublished and innovative research on International and Regional Geopolitics, Maritime Science & Technology, Maritime Affairs & Security, Blue Economy, Marine Environment & Climate Change, Marine Transportation and related fields.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Submissions should be made electronically via email to: ibbbsoffice@bsmrmu.edu.bd 
  • Manuscripts must adhere to the journal's formatting guidelines).
  • All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure high quality and relevance.
  • Manuscripts should be original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Topics of Interest: The journal welcomes submissions on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • International and regional geopolitics in the Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh region
  • Ocean science and technology
  • Maritime security and governance
  • Climate Change & Marine Ecology
  • Blue economy and sustainable development
  • Maritime transportation and logistics
  • Fisheries management and aquaculture
  • Marine Pollution, Biodiversity & Ecosystem

Publication Opportunity: Accepted papers will be published in the maiden issue of the IBBBS Journal, which will be freely accessible online.

Instructions for Authors:

  • Manuscripts should be written in English.
  • Include a cover page with the title of the manuscript, author(s) details, affiliations, and contact information.
  • Follow the APA style guidelines for formatting and referencing.
  • The abstract should be a total of about 250 words maximum. The abstract should be a single paragraph.
  • Three to seven pertinent keywords need to be added after the abstract. We recommend that the keywords are specific to the article, yet reasonably common within the subject discipline.
  • Figures, tables, and supplementary materials should be submitted as separate files.
