Bangbanbandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University observed Golden Jubilee of Independence and Victory Day-2021 at its campus maintaining proper social distancing. The event was held side by side various yearlong programs for the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The day's program began with the hoisting of the national flag at sunrise. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal (retd) graced the daylong occasion as the Chief Guest. The main program commenced with the inauguration of the Golden Jubilee of Independence Corner at the University and launching of the Liberation War Corner in the University Website.

A Documentary on Victory Day was screened and a Special Magazine was unveiled marking the Golden Jubilee of Independence during the occasion. A cultural event was organized by BSMRMU Cultural Club in the spirit of Victory Day and prizes were distributed among the winners of all the competitions arranged on this occasion. Professor Dr. Md. Wahiduzzaman of Institute of Educational Research, University of Dhaka graced the occasion as the Keynote Speaker. BSMRMU Treasurer, Registrar, Deans, Teachers, Students, Officers and Staffs attended the program as well. The event was streamed live on BSMRMU's official Facebook page.
