The “BSMR Maritime University, Bangladesh” is the first specialized maritime university of the country which was established in 2013. The construction of establishing the permanent campus of the university has been inaugurated on 04 March, 2024 at Hamidchar under Chattogram Port and Chadgaon Thana in Chattogram. The first Revised Development Project Proposal (RDPP) for the BSMRMU permanent campus was authorized on 4 October, 2023. At present, the 90 percent of foundation work of construction of different academic, administrative and residential hall buildings has been completed under this project. The rest of the work will also be accomplished within the timeframe of the project. The honorable Vice Chancellor of BSMRMU Rear Admiral Ashraful Hoq Chowdhury, NBP, OSP, BCGM, ndu, afwc, psc has recently visited the construction works and given his words of advice for successful completion of the project. Moreover, he expressed his deep interest to shift the temporary campus to the permanent one by the year 2026.
