The  BSMR Maritime University Debating Society has been crowned champion in the national debate competition, 'Barendra University presents DCN National Debate Festival 2024,' organized by the Debate Club of Naogaon. A total of 32 universities from across the country participated in the event. During the competition, they achieved notable victories, earning an honor award against Begum Rokeya University (Rangpur) in the quarterfinals, Rajshahi University of Engineering Technology (RUET) in the semifinals, and Premier University (Chittagong) in the finals.
At the conclusion of the tab round, Noor Mohammad Shuvo earned the 2nd Speaker Break, while Mohammad Bin Ashraf secured the 3rd Speaker Break. Noor Mohammad Shuvo was also recognized as the best speaker in the final debate of the competition.
The BSMRMU Debating Society champions were congratulated by the Vice Chancellor, Rear Admiral Ashraful Hoq Chowdhury, and their mentors, Captain Mohammad Mosharrof Hossain and the Coordinator, Commander Nasreen Umme Nahar. They expressed hopes for the continued success of society
