A delegation of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh led by the Vice-Chancellor Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal (retd) paid homage to the Father of the Nation by placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhaka's Dhanmondi to observe 46^th anniversary of Bangabandhu’s martyrdom and National Mourning Day-2021. After placing the wreath, the team stood there in solemn silence for some time to show their deepest respect for the great leader.

A discussion session on the lifespan of Father of the Nation was also organized at the university auditorium maintaining proper social distance. The Vice-Chancellor of the University Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal (retd) delivered a speech gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed of the International Relations Department, University of Dhaka attended as the special guest and guest speaker. Faculty members, Officers, and Staffs of the university were present there. The event was streamed live on BSMRMU's official Facebook page. Students attended the event through online as well.

A Special prayer was offered for the eternal peace of Bangabandhu and other members of his family martyred on August 15, 1975.
